U.S. Trailer for Assayas’ ‘Personal Shopper’ with K. Stew
IFC Films has released the first domestic trailer for Olivier Assayas‘ supernatural drama Personal Shopper, ahead of its U.S. release.
The film, which premiered at Cannes earlier this year, marks the reunion between the filmmaker and his Clouds of Sils Maria darling Kristen Stewart. It was a bit disappointing to read the rather mixed reviews from the press.
K. Stew stars as a high-fashion personal shopper who also communicates with the ghost of her dead brother, but fans of Assayas already know to expect something a bit more introspective. The main cast includes Lars Eidinger, Sigrid Bouaziz, Anders Danielsen Lie, Ty Olwin, Hammou Graia, Nora Van Waldstatten, and Benjamin Biolay.
Personal Shopper arrives in select theaters March 10. You can see the official U.S. trailer, which teases the slow-burn suspense that awaits.
Why is it called Personal Shopper? It’s a sorta-horror film about a boy coming back to haunt his sister, who is a personal shopper, and they thought the job description would make a good title for a movie? Really strange…
Maureen, mid-20s, has a job she hates: seeing to the wardrobe of a media celebrity. She couldn’t find anything better to pay for her stay in Paris. And wait. Wait for a sign from the spirit of her twin brother, who died a few months earlier. Until then, her life will stay on hold.
