Denmark's Oscar Contender

Magnolia Pictures has released a new U.S. trailer for Tobias Lindholm‘s political drama A War, the official Danish Foreign Oscar contender for 2015.

The third feature from writer-director Lindhom (R, A Hijacking), re-teams the filmmaker with his frequent collaborator, Pilou Asbaek (future “Game of Thrones” and Ben Hur star). Asbaek stars as an army commander in the Afghan war whose decision to save the life his fellow soldiers leads to war crime charge back home.

Lindhom recruited actual Danish Afghanistan veterans, Afghani refugees and Taliban warriors for what becomes his best work by far. Also starring Tuva Novotny and Soren Malling, the film opens on February 12th. Have a look at the trailer and poster below.

Yep, the war doesn’t end when you go home.
