US Trailer for Swiss Oscar Contender ‘My Life as a Zucchini’
GKids has released an official US trailer for Claude Barras‘ stop-motion feature My Life as a Zucchini (Ma vie de Courgette) about a boy who moves into a foster facility after the sudden death of his mother.
The screenplay is penned by Céline Sciamma, based on Gilles Paris‘ novel. An English dub will include the voices of Will Forte, Nick Offerman, Ellen Page, and Amy Sedaris. My Life as a Zucchini was nominated for Best Animated Film at the Golden Globes (lost to Zootopia) and is shortlisted for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards. It opens in select theaters on February 24.

After his mother’s sudden death, Zucchini is befriended by a police officer, Raymond, who accompanies him to his new foster home, filled with other orphans his age. At first he struggles to find his place in this at times strange and hostile environment. But with Raymond’s help and his newfound friends, Zucchini eventually learns to trust and love, as he searches for a new family of his own.
