US Trailer for the Eli Roth-Produced ‘Clown’ Horror

Jon Watts' Horror Film

The Weinstein Company has released a brand new trailer for the horror film Clown, which is directed by the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts and produced by gore-teur Eli Roth.

The film is based on a faux-trailer created by Watts and Christopher F. Ford (Robot & Frank) back in 2010. Starring Andy Powers, Laura Allen, Peter Stormare, Christian Distefano, Chuck Shamata, and Elizabeth Whitmere, it will be released stateside in limited theaters and on VOD on June 17. You can see the film’s trailer below.

I am less than enthusiastic about it. Clown has actually been released in Italy in 2014 and the UK and other countries in 2015…it’s been a slow news week.

CLOWN is a story of a loving father who dons a clown outfit and makeup to perform at his son’s sixth birthday, only to later discover that the costume – red nose and wig included– will not come off and his own personality changes in a horrific fashion. To break the curse of the evil outfit, the father must make grim choices with his own family facing danger.
