Vivica A. Fox to Return for the INDEPENDENCE DAY Sequel

Will Smith Vivica A. Fox

Vivica A. Fox will reprise her role as Jasmine Dubrow in the Independence Day sequel, joining Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Charlotte Gainsbourg and another ID vet Jeff Goldblum.

Fox played a single mother and the stripper who opts out of giving the aliens a warm welcome and instead makes it to Area 51, and was also the girlfriend of Captain Steven Hiller (Will Smith) and one of the few survivors who made it out of New York City.

Usher will play her grown up son, played by Dylan Bagley in the 1996 original, which will be a central character in the sequel.

The news came from director Roland Emmerich and Fox’s Twitter accounts:

It has also been rumored that Randy Quaid will be back and Bill Pullman is expected to return in some capacity as well, but the most important ingredient still missing from this movie is Smith. It’s too bad he’s not involved in making Independence Day 2, which is looking to begin production in May with a script most recently rewritten by Carter Blanchard.

Anyway, I hope it will be great epic popcorn fun just as it should be when hit theaters June 24th, 2016.
