‘War Dogs’ Trailer: Jonah Hill & Miles Teller Run Some Guns

Jonah Hill & Miles Teller

Warner Bros. has revealed the first trailer for War Dogs, the latest comedic drama from The Hangover filmmaker Todd Phillips.

The arms-dealing film is based on a true story and stars Jonah Hill and Miles Teller as a pair of Miami guys that profit off of war. It’s pretty terrifying though that two 20something stoners managed to buy Chinese weapons from the Albanian mafia and German arms dealers who were also selling to the Taliban.

Also starring Ana de Armas and Bradley Cooper, the film opens on August 19, 2016. Check out the War Dogs trailer, set to be attached to Batman v Superman this weekend.

Looks like Jonah gained a lot of weight for the role. Aside from that, cinematography looks really good and Phillips’ dark sense of humor seem to be put to good use in this bro-y twisted tale.

Based on a true story, “War Dogs” follows two friends in their early 20s (Hill and Teller) living in Miami Beach during the Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Starting small, they begin raking in big money and are living the high life. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a 300 million dollar deal to arm the Afghan Military—a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.
