Watch: First Official Trailer for ‘Jack Reacher: Never Go Back’

Jack Reacher Sequel

After we got our first look at Jack Reacher: Never Go Back last week, Paramount Pictures has now released the full length theatrical trailer for the film, now with fewer pointless interjections.

The upcoming sequel to the 2012 film, which comes from The Last Samurai director Ed Zwick, will see Tom Cruise‘s titular former military policeman-turned-drifter return to Virginia to clear the name of an old friend, played by Cobie Smulders, and in the process learn something major about his own past.

Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz wrote the script, last penned by Richard Wenk, adapted from Lee Child’s 18th book in the bestselling Jack Reacher series.

The supporting cast includes Robert Knepper, Aldis Hodge, Holt McCallany, Patrick Heusinger, and Danika Yarosh. Jack Reacher: Never Go Back opens in theaters October 21st this fall.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back follows the title character as he returns to Virginia to meet the head of his former unit. But she’s missing, he’s being charged with a crime committed nearly 20 years ago, and he may even have a daughter. Making things right will lead him on a cross-country chase to uncover the truth – and maybe even a family.
