Watch: First Trailer for Russian Superhero Film ‘Zaschitniki’

The first teaser trailer for Russian superhero feature Zaschitniki (The Guardians) came out in the March of 2015, but thanks to a tip from io9 we can now enjoy some very cool shots created for the film.

Directed by Armenian director Sarik Andreasyan, the film is set in an alternate USSR, following four humans turned into superheroes in order to defend the homeland from supernatural threats.

Zaschitniki stars Anton Pampushniy as Arsus the Wildman, who has the ability to transform himself into a bear, Sanzhar Madiev plays Khan the Windman, the masterfully skilled sword-wielder, Sebastian Sisak stars as Ler the Landman, armed with the power to manipulate the earth, and Alina Lanina plays Xenia the Waterwoman, who has the ability to respirate through water or something like that.

The film  gets December 2016 in Russia, likely sometime in 2017 for North America. Watch the trailer, and check out the poster, below.

Looks interesting. I really hope that story matches the visuals.
