Plane Stunt Featurette

A new featurette for Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation has debut online with wild plane stunt that had the fearless Tom Cruise “scared s**tless.”

Yup, the “American Jackie Chan” takes on one of his biggest stunt challenges yet: soaring himself sky-high in the risky moment from the fifth M:I flick.

Cruise also learned how to hold his breath for six minutes so director Christopher McQuarrie could shoot an underwater sequence in one take. Well, at least the M:I movie franchise stops trying to make people get interested in its lame stories and just sells it for what it is – an excuse to string together stunt sequence after stunt sequence.

Also starring Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris, Simon McBurney, Zhang Jingchu and Alec Baldwin, Rogue Nation opens on July 31.

Watch the airplane stunt featurette below. The film’s visual effects supervisor David Vickery revealed that the scene was shot eight times.

Cool. I’m genuinely curious how they get insured for these stunts. Chan did his own stunts and no one was willing to insure him.

Mission Impossible 5th Entry

Ethan and team take on their most impossible mission yet, eradicating the Syndicate – an International rogue organization as highly skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF.
