Watch: ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ U.S. Trailer

Seth Grahame-Smith Adaptation

Sony’s Screen Gems has released the first U.S. trailer for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the bestselling 2009 parody novel by Seth Grahame-Smith.

Directed by Burr Steers (Igby Goes Down), who also wrote the screenplay, the movie takes a bite out of the Jane Austin legacy, turning the five Bennet sisters into weapon-wielding zombie fighters with an attitude.

Arriving into theaters on February 5, just in time for a bloody Valentine’s Day, the film stars Lily James, Sam Riley, Matt Smith, Lena Headey and Charles Dance.

Watch the combination of corsets and carnage unfold in the trailer below.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES is a fresh twist on Jane Austen’s widely celebrated novel. A mysterious plague has fallen upon 19th century England, the land is overrun with the undead and feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is a master of martial arts and weaponry. Casting aside personal and social prejudices, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy must unite on the blood-soaked battlefield to rid the country of the zombie menace and discover their true love for one another.
