Watch the First Trailer for ‘A Bigger Splash’

Schoenaerts And Swinton

Here’s the first trailer for a sun-kissed Sicilian drama A Bigger Splash, starring Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Dakota Johnson and Matthias Schoenaerts.

A Luca Guadagnino‘s followup to I Am Love will be getting it’s gala premiere at the 2015 London Film Festvial on October 9th, ahead of its release in Italy on November 26th and in the UK on February 12th next year. The scintillating Mediterranean melodrama won’t reach U.S. theaters until May 13, 2016.

Scripted by David Kajganich, the film based on the 1969 French crime drama La piscine (The Swimming Pool) follows a rock star and filmmaker whose holiday gets an unexpected disruption. Watch the trailer below.

The trailer doesn’t give us the details surrounding a whirlwind of jealousy, passion and, ultimately, danger, but it does give us a beautiful imagery of the Italian island Pantelleria instead. Looks promising.

Luca Guadagnino‘s Melodrama

Rock legend Marianne Lane (Tilda Swinton) is recuperating on the volcanic island of Pantelleria with her partner Paul (Matthias Schoenaerts) when iconoclast record producer and old flame Harry (Ralph Fiennes) unexpectedly arrives with his daughter Penelope (Dakota Johnson) and interrupts their holiday, bringing with him an A-bomb blast of delirious nostalgia from which there can be no rescue. A Bigger Splash is a sensuous portrait of laughter, desire, and rock and roll detonating into violence under the Mediterranean sun.
