Bubble Studios’ Full-Length Film

The Russian film company Bubble Studios has released on YouTube the first trailer for Major Grom: The Plague Doctor (Майор Гром: Чумной Доктор), which premiered at Comic-Con Russia 2017.

Igor Grom is a skilled detective from St. Petersburg, known for his daring nature and uncompromising attitude towards the criminals of all kinds, who tries to catch a serial killer dressed as the plague doctor Nostradamus in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the comic (available for English-speaking readers on ComiXology).

The company presented a short film Major Grom (see the half hour movie below, with English subtitles) at this year’s San Diego Comic Fest. In the Q & A session, director Vladimir Besedin announced that he was working on a script for Major Grom: The Plague Doctor, which would be the first full-length Bubble film.

Watch the trailer (no subtitles) for the film set to be released in 2018, and starring Alexander Gorbatov as the title hero.

A new, 360-degree circular shooting technology was specially developed for the short film. The pic, with its 1 million dollar budget, became a YouTube hit and received almost 5 million views.
