Watch: Trailer for RGV’s Latest ‘Killing Veerappan’

“It took 10 years to kill Osama Bin Laden. It took 20 years to kill Veerappan.” Ram Gopal Varma (Company) is back with his new film Killing Veerappan, based on the tedious encounter of India’s most notorious jungle bandit and murderer Koose Muniswamy Veerappan.

The forest brigand Veerappan was a sandalwood smuggler, also accused of horrifying murders of at least 184 persons (100 of whom were policemen). He was killed by the Tamil Nadu Special Task Force on October 18, 2004 after more than 200 bullets rained on him while he was inside an ambulance.

Shivaraj Kumar stars as the officer who led hunt for India’s most deadly serial killer. Sandeep Bharadwaj, from National School of Drama, is playing the role of Veerappan.

According to Twitch Film, the crime-thriller opened in India on January 1st and “has critics fall over themselves with the kind of praise that RGV hasn’t enjoyed in nearly a decade.”
