Paramount Pictures has unveiled the 30-second Transformers: The Last Knight Super Bowl spot along with an official synopsis for the fifth film in the$3.78 billion franchise, which is as far as anyone knows Michael Bay’s last Transformers film.
The up and coming continuation sets the stage for the planned expansion of the blockbuster franchise that includes a Bumblebee spin-off film slated for release on June 8, 2018, another Transformers sequel set to debut June 28, 2019, and a possible origin movie for the constantly warring Autobots and Decepticons.
Transformers: The Last Knight has a June 23, 2017 release and stars franchise vets Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro, joined by newcomers Isabela Moner, Liam Garrigan, Jerrod Carmichael, Mitch Pileggi, Laura Haddock, Santago Cabrera and Anthony Hopkins.
The extended 55-second ad will be running during the Super Bowl broadcast on Sunday. For now, devour your eyes on the TV spot below that reveals brand new footage from the film.
The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).
There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.
