Weekend Box Office: ‘Dumbo’ Flies to #1 But Not Too High

Despite the cast of Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito, and Michael Keaton, Disney and Tim Burton’s live-action update of the beloved 1941 animated film didn’t fly as high as expected.

The film pulled in $45 million domestically, but the biggest disappointment of the weekend goes to The Beach Bum, from filmmaker Harmony Korine and star Matthew McConaughey, which earned only $1.8 million from 1,100 theaters.
