X-MEN APOCALYPSE Casts Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan

Young Mutants

X-Men Apocalypse casts Alexandra Shipp ( “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B“), Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones“) and Tye Sheridan (Mud) as Storm, Jean Grey and Cyclops, in this order.

All three actors were named earlier this month as testing for some younger reboots of Marvel’s most famous mutants. Bryan Singer–who had been testing actors and actresses for the last couple of weeks–shared the news of the castings on Thursday evening:

Trio of young stars will fill the shoes of James Marsden (Cyclops), Halle Berry (Storm) and Famke Janssen (Jean Grey) who have been playing the roles for nearly a decade in a half.

Star Wars 7‘s Oscar Issac was previously cast as the titular comicbook villain in movie. Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Michael Fassebender will return for the next installment, said to be the conclusion of a trilogy started with X-Men: First Class and continued with X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Tye Sheridan is a good choice, he literally overshadowed Nick Cage in Joe. Sophie Turner will also do awesome as Jean and Alexandra Shipp is obviously not that wretched if she got the part. Seems like Singer’s type and seems like he plans on branching off towards a ‘Teen Mutants’ angle for the future.
